The Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo has declared a new outbreak of Ebola after two cases of the deadly disease were reported in Northwest of the country.
More specimens have been collected for testing. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Africa Center for Disease Control have already deployed their epidemic response teams to DRC. The last outbreak occurred in 2017 at Bus Uele Province but was quickly contained by the Government in collaboration with WHO and other partners.
