These are highlights from the Raila Odinga-led opposition protests on 27th March 2023.
As the protestors engaged in running battles with the police in Mathare in Kenya’s capital, the Kenyatta family-owned Northlands Farm in Ruiru along the Eastern Bypass was on fire. Unknown people armed with sticks and machetes invaded the farm, cutting down trees, lighting fires and helping themselves to livestock from the property. Any signs of journalists were unwelcome as members of the press were attacked.
Two of Africa Uncensored‘s Journalists Calvin Rock and Clint Obere were arrested by the Anti-Riot Police while filming in Mathare.
