Africa Uncensored, an independent media house dedicated to investigative journalism in Africa, is seeking experienced trainers to facilitate an upcoming training program on investigative journalism, with a focus on conducting financial investigations.
The training aims to equip journalists with the necessary skills and tools to uncover cases of corruption, mismanagement, and violations of public finance management principles.
Training Objectives
- Understand the key principles and ethics of investigative journalism.
- Learn investigative research methods and techniques, including data analysis and source verification.
- Acquire knowledge on relevant legal and regulatory frameworks related to public finance management.
- Develop skills for conducting interviews and gathering evidence from various sources.
- Explore approaches for presenting investigative stories effectively and ethically to maximize impact.
- Understand the role of open data and open contracting in promoting transparency and accountability.
