A day after acting Kenya Power Managing Director and CEO Jared Othieno said that the utility firm would be going after over 3,500 customers it alleges benefitted from the fraudulent generation of electricity tokens by its own staff worth over Kshs 35 million, activists and supporting Kenyans took to the streets of Nairobi to protest the company’s alleged extortion of its customers through irregular billing and the public through alleged skewed procurement practices among other corrupt practices.
