Over 370,000 people aged between 10 and 19 years became pregnant between July 2016 and June 2018 in Kenya, according to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). While the situation is much dire in largely rural counties like Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River, Homa Bay, Samburu and others, the high rate of teenage pregnancies bears its ugly head even in urban areas like Kenya’s capital, Nairobi.
