In all our comforts, we either watch news on television or scroll our phones; journalists update us on events where we are not able to reach especially in conflict zones or riotous situations. But in this pursuit of news, journalists face the harshest realities, many pay a brutal price for their craft. In Uganda many journalists have reportedly been traumatized by what they go through in the field and on return to their workstations, coupled with a regional decline in press freedom, there is minimal or no duty of care. This documentary examines the lived experiences of Ugandan journalists and the resulting mental health challenges and burn out as they navigate traumatic experiences, violence and declining press freedom in their line of work.
