Ten years ago, Owino Uhuru, an informal settlement in Mombasa, shocked the world when residents were found to be dying from lead poisoning, with both national and county governments fully aware. After a long legal battle, the court awarded KSh. 1.3 billion in compensation, yet residents have seen none of it. 10 years after we first exposed this tragedy, we return to Owino Uhuru to find death still stalking its residents, families shattered, and lead poisoning tightening its deadly grip.
