There is an ongoing debate nationally on whether to amend the Constitution or not, with the conversation being driven mainly by politicians.
The debate took centre stage on Sunday, July 7th 2019, on the 29th anniversary of Saba Saba, the day in 1990 when then key opposition figures were to congregate at Nairobi’s historic Kamukunji stadium at the height of the clamour for multipartyism in Kenya only to be arrested and detained in the days leading to the event and others and members of the public barred from meeting on the said date.
The convention, held in Limuru, drew personalities from academia, religious circles and civil society organizations. This video is a sneak peek into the main discussion of the day.
